Movie Review: Final Destination 5

In the first four Final Destination movies, they almost have the same plot happening over and over. So if you are going to expect the same out of the 5th installment, why watch it anyway? But don’t be so sure yet. The 5th (which I hope will be the last) movie of the “Final Destination” franchise is the most exciting, shocking, and thriller-filled movie that will give you chills as you walk out the theatre. Not only that, it is the most gruesome blood fest Final Destination movie ever!!!

In the story, employees of a company were going on a retreat. The main protagonists to board the bus are Sam, Molly, Peter, and Candice (Peter’s girlfriend). Other passengers were their co-workers Isaac, Olivia, their boss Nathan and other employees of the company. Before Sam got on the bus, he had a weird feeling as he was staring at the “watch your step” sign on the bus stairs. As the bus moves along a bridge being repaired, he started looking so worried about his surroundings. As the bus stops in the middle of the bridge, the structure started to collapse. One by one, they ended up with horrible, gruesome deaths.

Sam wakes up from his nightmare knowing everything he envisioned in his premonition was about to happen. He tried his best to salvage people along with his other co-workers, but it was too late. As they watched from the end of the road where the end of the bridge collapsed, they were not aware that death will soon hunt them so they will all die.

As they waited for the funeral of the employees who died on that bridge to start, a mysterious coroner warned them about the mistake that they made about surviving the tragedy. He told them that they should’ve died on that bridge because when they lived, they have taken someone else’s place on earth.

What I like about the movie is that it has new twists in the film instead of just mere coincidences of everyday objects killing people. The filmmakers did a really good job in the gore factor section. I think the overall creativity was twice as good as the recent films. The story was also almost as “supernatural” instead of just a sad ending of one’s destination.

If you like watching scary movies, you should see this one!
